Youth Pastor

Christ United Methodist Church in Moravia is looking for someone who loves youth and is on fire for the Lord, to be our full-time Youth Pastor.   This is an entry-level position, designed for a recent college graduate; seminary training is not required.

There are two principal responsibilities: directing our youth program (grades 6-12), and coordinating our Sunday evening praise service. Our youth program includes both a Jr. High and a Sr. High youth group and Sunday School for about 25 youth; the Youth Pastor develops programming, works with other adult volunteers, and serves as a spiritual guide and role model for the youth. Our weekly praise service (with an attendance of 45) includes a live band and testimonial messages with a contemporary flavor; the Youth Pastor works with the song leader and a worship team to plan this service. We are looking to see all of these dynamic programs grow. Qualifications include people skills in coordinating with volunteers, experience in ministering to youth, and organizational ability. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Interim Protestant Chaplain

The Protestant Campus Ministry at Syracuse University and SUNY – ESF seeks to make an immediate appointment of an Interim Protestant Chaplain for one academic year.  The ideal candidate will have experience preaching and leading worship, working with young adults in higher educational setting, coordinating service opportunities, and serving as an administrator and mentor.  The Interim Protestant Chaplain works in an interfaith setting with various chaplaincies and religious life groups represented. The incumbent must be comfortable serving in an environment that represents all facets of human diversity.  The person selected must be ordained and in good standing in the American Baptist Churches, the Presbyterian Church (USA), United Church of Christ, or the United Methodist Church.
